Construction of Titania Smelter Plant for CYMG in China

Construction of the 85,000 t/yr TiO2 slag smelting plant designed by Bateman Engineering, together with the local Kunming Design Institute, for the Chinese Yunnan Metallurgical Group (CYMG) is well underway.

DC furnace for Southern Urals Nickel

A US$31 million contract from Southern Urals Nickel Plant OAO has been awarded to Bateman Engineering subsidiary, Bateman International Projects B.V., for the design and supply of a 12 MW DC furnace to be erected at Southern Urals Nickel’s existing facility in the city of Orsk, Orenburg Region, Russian Federation. Construction started on CYMG titanium slag smelting plant

Bateman Engineering has completed the process test work and majority of the basic design for Yunnan Xinli Nonferrous Metals Co. Ltd for their new titanium slag smelting plant to be constructed in Yunnan, China. Earthworks for the plant have commenced and construction is due to start in mid 2007, with the aim to start full scale production in the third quarter of 2008. Yunnan Xinli’s parent company is the China Yunnan Metallurgical Group (CYMG).

First contract in China

Bateman Engineering has been awarded a US$4 million contract from Yunnan Xinli Nonferrous Metals Co. Ltd to provide engineering services for a new titanium slag smelting plant to be constructed in the Chinese Province of Yunnan. The project is the first to be carried out by Bateman Engineering in China, and offers the potential for future business in the region, particularly with Yunnan Xinli's parent company, the China Yunnan Metallurgical Group (CYMG).

DC-smelting study on nickel ore from Shevchenko, Kazakhstan

BATEMAN was contracted by Mintek to provide the engineering input to a prefeasibility study for Oriel Resources plc on a ferronickel-process plant for the Shevchenko project in Kazakhstan. The study was completed successfully.

Chambishi Metals installs DC open-arc furnace

Bateman Titaco has completed the engineering, procurement and commissioning of the 40MW DC arc smelter and associated works at Anglovaal Mining’s (Avmin’s) Chambishi Metals operation in Zambia. The site is located 30 km northwest of Kitwe, on the road to Chingola.
