New appointments to BMI board
Bateman Minerals & Industrial Limited (BMI) has appointed Mr BG
Smidt and Dr SJ Meijers as non-executive directors of BMI.
"Both appointees will contribute considerable experience and understanding
of the markets which BMI serves," said Bill Kerr, BMI Managing
Director. "They will also draw the RSA operations of BATEMAN closer
together."

Mr Basil G Smidt has been appointed non-executive director of BMI.
Basil, a founding director and Chief Executive of Titaco Projects
Limited, also sits on the board of Bateman Project Holdings Limited.
He has been with the group since 1987.

Dr Stephen J Meijers has been appointed non-executive director of
BMI. Stephen is the Managing Director of Bateman Materials Handling
Limited and ELB- Brandt Contracting (Pty) Ltd. He has seven years
service with the group.
