The 35 t/hr and 50 t/hr DMS modules for Havercroft Mine, fully assembled at the fabricator's works near Springs, after completion of the pre-delivery shop-testing during which mechanical, electrical and water reticulation functions were fully tested.

Modular plants require minimal disassembly in order to move them to site. One of the main modules can be seen intact on the flatbed trailer on the left and another major component is in the process of being loaded.

Havercroft plants transported to site

Two modular dense media separation (DMS) plants have been installed at the Havercroft Andalusite Mine near Burgersfort in Northern Province.

The DMS plants were supplied by Bateman Minerals and Industrial (BMI) to Rhino Minerals, a wholly owned division of Anglovaal Minerals Limited, as part of a R 34m process plant which will treat 88 000 tonne/month of andalusite ore.

The plant was transported by road to the mine site about 70 km north-west of Burgersfort in Northern Province. Following delivery on site its modular construction enabled re-erection in only five days; a remarkably short time for this task on such a remote site. The modular plant was the first part of the process plant assembled on site.
