Social Investment
Bateman Africa fully acknowledges its responsibility to uplifting
the country and community within which it is situated. In line with
this, it is developing a comprehensive, corporate, social-investment
strategy that emphasises building the human-resources-skills capacity
within the South Africa minerals and mining sector, with a particular
emphasis on historically-disadvantaged persons. In view of that, Bateman
Africa annually sponsors a range of projects, with a tendency to prefer
longer-term, self-sustaining projects.

MaAfrika Tikkun
MaAfrika Tikkun works in partnership with the community to develop much needed projects and programmes which make a meaningful difference to many disadvantaged communities in South Africa. Together they create environments that promote empowerment and help to equip people with knowledge so that they can build a better life for themselves.

Mineral Education Trust (METF)
The Fund aims to support, promote and advance the interest of minerals education in South Africa. It achieves this by providing the beneficiaries with funds that are used primarily to supplement academic salaries in the disciplines of Mining, Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering and Geology.
Bateman Africa also sponsors engineering studies through bursaries.
