Management appointments
Eddie du Rand has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Bateman Engineering N.V. Group, effective from 12 March, 2008.
Eddie joined Bateman Engineering in September 2007 as Managing Director of the Minerals & Metals division, bringing with him considerable experience at Managing Director and Board level in the construction industry.
As Managing Director of Grinaker - LTA Construction prior to joining Bateman Engineering, he led a company with a turnover in excess of US$1 billion and more than 15,000 employees.
Eddie qualified in Mechanical Engineering and completed an advanced management programme with Harvard Business School, USA.
Graham Joyce has been appointed General Manager Designate of Bateman Engineering’s Modular Plants business unit with effect from 1 April 2008.
Graham will officially take over on 1 July 2008 from Robert Abate who, after 31 years of service to the Modular Plants business unit and broader Bateman Group, will take up the position of Senior Consultant.
Graham, who has a BSc (Mechanical Engineering), has completed a Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School, SA and is a registered professional engineer.
Before joining Modular Plants, he was the first Country Manager for Bateman Engineering’s office in Gaborone, Botswana and, prior to that, project engineered various projects and studies for diamond mining clients
Bateman Engineering’s modular plants, self contained or integrated into conventional plants, are mostly used for diamond recovery but are also suitable for processing coal, graphite, magnesite, andalusite, chromite, platinum and gold. They are used globally for prospecting, exploration, mining and mineral processing on land or sea with a track record of more than 450 projects in 30 countries since 1967.
