Bateman Africa Announces change in shareholding structure.

Bateman Africa (Pty) Ltd announces a change in its shareholding structure with ILISO Consulting (Pty) Ltd, a black-owned and managed multidisciplinary practice, taking up shareholding formerly held by PD Naidoo Mining & Industrial (Pty) Ltd (PDNA).

PDNA has relinquished its shareholding in Bateman Africa to pursue the development of its own independent process-engineering capability.

Commenting on the new shareholding, Dr Sivi Gounden, Chairman of Bateman Africa, said: "We wish PDNA well in their new venture and are happy to have served as an incubator for the development of new Black process-engineering capability. We welcome ILISO Consulting to our team and believe that their involvement will contribute to the further growth and development of Bateman Africa as a leading black-owned process-engineering and project management company in South Africa.".

Bateman Africa (Pty) Ltd is 51 % owned by Black equity partners and 49 % owned by a Bateman Engineering N.V. subsidiary, Bateman Projects Limited. The other shareholders are ASCH Professional Services (Pty) Ltd (20 %), Chancellor House Holdings (Pty) Ltd (10 %) and Technical Training Services (Pty) Ltd (11 %). The company focuses on the provision of innovative solutions to the mining, metals and minerals processing, power-generation, infrastructure and general industries, combining world-class engineering and project-management skills with an innate knowledge of the South African engineering environment.

Bateman Africa has the full range of multidisciplinary skills and services required to take a project from concept through design and ramp-up to operation.

ILISO Consulting (Pty) Ltd is a South African-based consulting engineering and project management company. With a resource base of some 180 professional, technical and support staff, it is one of the largest black-owned and managed multidisciplinary consulting engineering firms in South Africa. During the last 10 years, ILISO Consulting has been involved in a number of landmark and community projects from the intermodal transport interchange for public transport facilities at the Stock Road Station precint in Cape Town, through to the new bulk supply pipeline to provide additional firefighting capacity in Mossel Bay.
